</dt><dd><a title=\"Blues extend Ballack contract\" href=\"http://images.football.co.uk/Dynamic/News/400x400/1243432511_spt_ai_chelsea_training_27.jpg\" jquery1243969291156=\"52\">Blues extend Ballack contract</a></dd></dl></div><p>Chelsea have confirmed that Germany midfielder Michael Ballack has signed a new one-year contract at Stamford Bridge. <br/><br/>The 32-year-old has been with the Blues for three seasons, scoring 20 goals in 122 appearances in all competitions since his arrival from Bayern Munich. <br/><br/>He told the club\'s official website: \"I am very happy to be staying at Chelsea for one more year as it was always my intention to play in London at least until the World Cup in 2010. <br/><br/>\"We had a fantastic end to the season winning the FA Cup and we are all looking forward to taking this success into the new season under Carlo Ancelotti, our new manager.\" <br/><br/>Ballack had previously said after the FA Cup final victory over Everton at the weekend: \"Next year we want to win the Premier League again. <br/><br/>\"We know that Manchester United are a very, very good team and they have a good year behind them, so it will not be easy. <br/><br/>\"They have won it three years in a row which is a big thing, they can play with confidence and it looks like it is getting easier for them. <br/><br/>\"But we have showed this season, especially in the Champions League, that we can play really good football too.\"</p>
