此次的世界杯官方主题曲分为两个版本，k'naan的《Wavin Flag》（中文：《飘扬的旗帜》）的歌曲经过了多轮的评审于2010年南非世界杯抽签前夕最终被选为了南非世界杯的官方主题曲。《飘扬的旗帜》是他今年2月底发行的专辑《游吟诗人》中的一首歌，歌曲带有浓郁的非洲气息，表达了对这片充满战火、贫穷和落后的土地不离不弃的热爱。在今年9月国际足联举行的世界杯主题曲征集中，克南将自己的歌曲寄给了国际足联，最终被国际足联所认可，成为了南非世界杯的主题歌。据悉，克南将特别为世界杯重新制作一款混音版的《Wavin' Flag The Celebration Mix。》用于宣传，两个版本届时都将收录在南非世界杯歌曲专辑之中。
