German outfit Werder Bremen have received some disturbing news on the injury front in the build-up to their Champions League play-off clash with Italian side Sampdoria on Tuesday evening.
The Hanseaten will have to make do without the services of versatile attacker Aaron Hunt as the German international has been ruled out of the match due to a viral infection, if a report in Bild is to be believed.
Hunt is not the only absentee for Werder, as head coach Thomas Schaaf will also be without Brazilian centre-back Naldo due to a knee injury. Furthermore, striker Hugo Almeida won't be able to play due to a thigh problem.
Werder Bremen recorded a 3-1 home win against Sampdoria last week, but they won't be too high on confidence after their heavy 4-1 Bundesliga defeat against Hoffenheim at the weekend.
