Manchester United target German international Lukas Podolski by Geraldine Lagard. Published Sun 10 Oct 2010 11:00, Last updated: 2010-10-10
According to reports Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is pondering over a move for Koln striker Lukas Podolski.
The German marksman is currently struggling with the Cologne club after re-joining them after a disappointing spell at Bayern Munich.
Podolski has managed just four goals in 33 matches for Zvonimir Soldo’s side and was hoping that the club could improve on last season’s 13th place finish.
However, the club already finds itself in a relegation scrap currently languishing in 16th place.
Podolski left Bayern Munich after he fell down the pecking order at the Alianz Arena but his move back to Koln seems have also floundered.
The 25-year-old, who has consistently performed on the international scene, may well see it as time for a move away from Bundesliga.
Sir Alex Ferguson is a known admirer of the Polish-born striker who’s power and physique would be suited to the Premier League.
It is understood that £12 million will secure the German international’s services.
