There is no "what if" in football.
Some of us hoped that Poldi would reach his full potential and contribute to Bayern's cause, and regreted that he left without being able to do so, under 3 different coaches.
But who knows if Van Gaal, despite his preference for young players, would give Poldi the opportunities he gave Muller and Badstuber? Or that Poldi would have Gomez's luck (Van Gaal running out of strikers/attacking players and having no choice but to let Gomez play) and Gomez's ability to finally grab his chance of playing continuously?
Afterall, Lucio, Tymo and Klose are good/great players who had already proven themselves, but still did not get many/any opportunities under Van Gaal.
(BTW, I am NOT a 范黑. I have no doubt that Van Gaal knows a lot more about football than I do. I am just pointing out some facts to support my argument.) |
