Kubica discharged from Italian hospital
库比卡从意大利医院出院
Renault driver Robert Kubica has left Italy’s Santa Corona Hospital, 11 weeks on from the rally crash that left him with severe injuries to his right hand, ruling him out of the start of the 2011 Formula One season.
The hospital described Kubica’s condition as ‘good’, adding that he will continue to be monitored by their doctors. It follows the Polish driver’s own announcement earlier this week that he will take a brief respite at home in Monte Carlo before commencing an extensive period of rehabilitation.
"As soon as I leave hospital, I'll head to my home in Monaco for a short period of rest,” Kubica told fans via Renault’s official website. “Then I'll move to Dr Ceccarelli's facilities in Italy where I will start a deep rehabilitation programme and a preliminary soft training programme. The two programmes will gradually cross over based on the speed of my recovery."
Kubica’s place in the Renault team has been temporarily taken by Nick Heidfeld, the veteran German driver previously his team mate at BMW Sauber. No decision on Kubica’s return is expected until later in the year.
