I don't know if the poster on GoalHi indicated that this aritcle is not an original work, but a translation of the work of one of the best writer on German football who writes in English, Uli Hesse-Lichtenberger. (His book "Tor! The Story of German Football", is perhaps the best book on German football available to fans of German football who cannot read German.)
This is a good translation, but I think the original writer should get credit for his work.
To those fans who can read English (but not German) and have the patience to read long, in depth articles, I strongly recommend that you seek out the writing of Uli Hesse-Lichtenberger and those of Raphael Honigstein.
P.S. 1
Uli Hesse-Lichtenberger also writes under the name Uli Hesse.
P.S. 2
Raphael Honigstein's work is also sometimes translated and posted on GoalHi.
