And if the wiley Zabel can latch onto the right wheel in a bunch sprint finish then he has a fair chance of powering his way to a medal. An Olympic medal has, to date, eluded the hard-working Zabel. 4、哈萨克斯坦人 Alexander Vinokourov is another one with happy memories of the Sydney road race. He finished second and stood on the podium with friends Ullrich and Klöden in 2000. Vino has recently returned to competitive racing, following his crash at the Tour de Suisse in June, and looks to be on track for another joust at a podium place in Athens. He was forced to sit out the Tour and that will just make the 30 year more motivated than ever before to snatch a medal for Kazakhstan in Athens.
5、哈萨克斯坦人Sergei Jakovlev. The stage race specialist proved with his stage win in the 2003 Tour de Suisse that he is not just riding in the shadow of compatriot Alexander Vinokourov.
6、意大利人Daniele Nardello (31) will race for Italy in Athens. He was a key helper for Ullrich and Klöden in this year\'s Tour. Nardello is capable of securing a gold medal for the Italian Olympic team. He can win big races on his own, as he showed at the World Championships in Zürich in 2003, but he could also pave the way for Italian sprint star Alessandro Petacchi to win gold.
7、俄罗斯人Sergei Ivanov gave a good account of himself in the classics. The 29-year-old played a pivotal role in the team\'s good early year results at Milan-San Remo, the Tour of Flanders and the Amstel Gold Race. Ivanov, who rode his fourth Tour this year, will use his instinct and talent in Athens to attach himself to breakaways and to support his Russian team-mates.
8、哥伦比亚人Santiago Botero (31岁的. 2002年个人计时赛世界冠军）。The 2004 season didn\'t start well for Botero. The reason: a virus infection. After six weeks of hard training in his Colombian homeland he returned to Europe in good form and earned a Tour nomination. He couldn\'t match his outstanding fourth place in the 2002 Tour, however, and that should be motivation enough for him to re-capture some of the old magic at the Olympic Games.
