Zabel的第七应该能巩固他世界排名第一的位子吧？但在世界杯总积分上就很难超越了

01.08.2004/ Hamburg is always worth a visit. The old city is particularly worth visiting when the world of pro cycling sweeps into town to contest World Cup points. An estimated one million spectators lined the roads on sunday to witness Australian rider Stuart O\'Grady (Cofidis) win the 250,3 km HEW Cyclassics ahead of Paolo Bettini (Italy/Quick Step) and the World Champion from Spain Igor Astarloa (Lampre).

Despite winning the Tour stage into Chartres this year, it at one point looked like O\'Grady was out of contention in this race. With 15 km to race a 10 man group had broken away from the peloton. Jan Ullrich, Paolo Bettini (Quick Step) and Davide Rebellin (Gerolsteiner) were all in this group and they looked to be cruising to the finish line.

But things were still brewing behind them and suddenly a group of about 20 riders including O`Grady and Erik Zabel bridged the gap and made the peloton 30-strong again. The stage was set for a bunch sprint finish, and the Aussie rider made his race winning move around the outside after the Gersolsteiner team had led out the sprint.

It was the first ever World Cup win for an Australian rider: \"It\'s unbelievable. It\'s the biggest victory of my career...it\'s magic,\" said the in-form and clearly astonished O\'Grady straight after his victory today. \"I really had no idea how the form was today. I just used the right tactics at the finish, since I knew Rebellin and the others were after the World Cup. I felt good at the finish and just got the perfect run.\"

Zabel battles on
T-Mobile Team\'s Erik Zabel also gave a good account of himself today. The sprinter lost time due to a mechanical problem at one point, but managed to battle his way back to the front of the peloton and into contention. The veteran had to be content with seventh in the end though, not good enough for a podium place, but it gives him a few more valuable points to protect his position at the top of the UCI world rankings: \"The last lap was fairly hectic. It was hard work to keep in touch with the front of the peloton. Therefore, I have to be content with this seventh place.\"

T-Mobile captain Jan Ullrich had a similar reaction: \"The attacks were coming thick and fast. I was constantly chasing and closing down breaks. And with the tempo so high I just didn\'t have the legs in the last kilometre. But the scene here in Hamburg was as brilliant as ever; the fans\' enthusiasm gives me lots of motiviation for the rest of the season.\" And that means the Olympic Road Race 13 days from now.

Kl&ouml;den looks to San Sebastian
O\'Grady has clearly come out of the Tour De France in great form and he too is looking forward to the Olympic showdown on August 14, where he and his podium partners Bettini and Astarloa will certainly give the T-Mobile riders a run for their money. \"I\'d like to think about the World Cup, but everything\'s just concentrating on the Olympics from now on...but today was amazing.\"

Tour runner-up Andreas Kl&ouml;den is also looking forward to upcoming races: \"It was tough going out there, but I was at lest happy that I managed to bring Erik Zabel up to the front. I couldn\'t get a good place myslef. The route in San Sebastian next Saturday will probably suit me better.\"

现在比较麻烦的是Klodi与T-mobile的合同今年就到期了，可据媒体报道，他直到现在也没有与车队续约，不知下面会有什么变数，再加上Ulli所谓暂时留下这个不确定因素，我想也够电信的老板们费一番心思了。还是希望他们都留在这里，无论如何电信车队始终是我最热爱的，也应该是最适合的。如果实在不行，退而求其次，Gerolsteiner也勉强接受了

克罗丹现在转会市场上炙手可热

德国冠军克罗丹在这次环法比赛，紧随兰斯取得第二名后，成为转会市场上的红人。到现在克罗丹还没有和他现在服役德国电讯车队签下新合同。在几个平庸的赛季之后，克罗丹在这届环法比赛中表现优异。他的经纪人，前瑞士自行车职业运动员Tony Rominger正在为他安排新合同。

“我曾在今年的环法前和车队老板Walter Godefroot 谈过续签两年新合同，但是他拒绝了。”克罗丹在HEW Cyclassics比赛后 对DPA说：“现在我的谈判条件改善了。”


Rominger认为德国电讯车队还是很好显得选择，但是克罗丹也有他的雄心壮志。克罗丹是德国电讯车队队长扬乌尔里希的密的朋友，正处在事业的顶峰时期，如果他留在德国电讯车队，29岁的克罗丹无疑还要继续为扬工作。他应该有机会走自己的路。

“德国电讯车队的内部情况不错，”Rominger解释说：“但是如果安迪要当队长的话，他就必须换环境。”
