有一次领着德国人去黄山,当地客户隆重接待,夜宴时上了那道名菜“臭鳜鱼”,看到客户兴致勃勃地要介绍如何制作的时候,我提醒他不要说仔细了,以免老外反胃。这哥们兴头上,执意要向老外夫妇推荐这名菜,待他把这臭鳜鱼的典故起源和如何自作娓娓道出后,原本就对臭鱼异味有些好奇的老外立刻把筷子放下了,很认真说到“ Mr.Chen, I understand that it's very difficult to keep the fish fresh in ancient times, especially in long-distance journey,  there were not refrigerator and refrigerated van. so you people had to invente this method to preserve and cook the fish. But now we all have refrigerator, why do you still make the fresh fish bad smell? 。。。。”  客户也有些哑口无言了,只好说“闻着臭吃着香"。 其实我也有同问,但只好打圆场,“Hubert,  you just look upon it as your Limburger or Stilton“。 这老哥哼唧了一下,意兴阑珊,最终还是没动筷子。我倒是夹了一筷子,只不过放到自己的食碟,没有进嘴[s:86]
第二天晚上逛完老街,路过大食档,半条街街弥漫煎臭豆腐的味道。
老外叫道” 臭鳜鱼?” ,
“No, Fried smell tofu, your fried limburger!" ,
"Really? would you like to try it, Jerry?"
"thanks, you do , I try others."
