The talented 22 year old Hamburg-born midfielder had been eyeing a move to Bundesliga rivals VfL Bochum. Stevens called the youngster and told him that he remains an integral part of his future plans, and that a move is out of the question. Laas views the situation with mixed feelings, because the competiton for first team places in HSV\'s midfield has never been more intense Utility man! \"The coach confirmed to me that he is counting on me for next season. I wanted a word of support and I have got that now. All I can do is wait and see how the plans will be put into practice. I have to chew it all over, because I had been set for a move\", said the youngster, who made 22 Bundesliga appearances for the club last season. A major advantage of Laas is that he is a real utility player, who can play in front of the back four as well as further forward on the left hand side of midfield.
