我混的另外一个论坛上有个在这间大学的坛友在事发当天写的东西。

英语的,不过不是很难懂。大家有兴趣可以看看

Sorry ppl I write english faster than typing chinese.... and in so little hours so much have happened and so many ppl I just felt like my typing is not even fast enough to catch up with my thought that\'s running through my mind...

I don\'t even know if like I should...like if I have the right to write about this? but here goes...

Since the moment I found out about the first shooting this morning, my eyes have been glued to the TV screen or my laptop and I\'ve been going back and forth absorbing as much information as I could and flipping through channels and relaying and passing that information on to everyone I was talking to online...

I don\'t even know any thing for sure because apparently the shooter\'s already dead and we don\'t know if there\'s anyone else\'s behind this...

on April 2nd we had a bomb threat at Torgerson hall where everyone in the building were asked to evacuate...but at first we just thought maybe someone was just trying to play a sick joke or something....and the cops searched the entire building and no bombs were found.

then this past friday...we were actually on campus preparing for international street fair (this week is our school\'s international week and we had parade of nations that afternoon)....as we were walking throught the drill field (the central part of the campus) we saw yellow banners everywhere and cop cars lined up on almost half of the campus and we were like mann....wat was going on...then we found out someone sent in a letter stating bombs planted in three of the academic buildings... that was like around 4:30 or 5 pm in the afternoon because I remember being stuck in traffic for soo long and everyone was asked to leave the campus..

so...over the weekend the buildings were searched and again no bombs were found...thus on our school website it said we have regular class schedule on monday...and ... the shooting happens..

the officials are still searching/investigating info related to the bomb threats but there\'s no connection that leads the 3 incidents together...but personally..i suspect the shooting was planned...and i dunt think it was just a mere crazy random dude who went on campus and started to shoot ppl... but from all the sources ...so far i found that-

Apparently, the shooter was an Asian guy and I guess he was having problems with his girlfriend because according to my sources (which include the news (online) and the TV, news/press conferences, and other people) he went to the fourth floor of West AJ this morning around 7-ish, looking for his girlfriend. I guess he found her and they were fighting or something because an RA came in to see what the commotion was about and to try and help--because you know that\'s what RAs do and naturally, she must\'ve been concerned/worried. The shooter, who still remains anonymous as of now, had 2 9 mm guns and he shot both his girlfriend and the RA. Only one of the 2 girls died at the time, and I heard that VA Tech officials I guess thought he left the campus and was leaving the country so that\'s why they didn\'t e-mail anyone on campus until after the second shooting...Almost immediately after it happened AJ was basically evacuated I think (esp. 4th floor) and students ran frantically away from the building, all the way across drillfield, and I think they eventually went downtown--but this is all I heard from the news.

Then around 10 AMish the second shooting took place at Norris Hall, which is an Engineering building but a lot of other classes take place there too. The news havent disclosed if the shooter was an undergrad or a graduate or an alumn of Tech, but he went into a classroom (I think it was his?) and many sources say he lined up everybody in the class execution style and shot them all. And then he went into a German Language class...shot the professor and killed him, and then randomly started shooting at students. A lot of the students had to play dead and he eventually left after what seemed like an eternity to them...but was maybe about a minute. Two male students in the class got up after he left, rushed to the door, and blocked it with their feet, in case he would come back. Which he did, because he tried to force his way back in and when that didn\'t work, he starting shooting at the door. Luckily, these shots didn\'t harm anyone and then he left but they kept on hearing shots firing, so I\'m sure he went somewhere else and started turning on other people.

Those 2 male students then went around helping their injured peers and making sure people were okay. I heard several people were really scared so they jumped out of the top story window (2nd floor) and injured themselves when they landed outside.

In the midst of when all this was happening, I swear the news station said the police had a suspect in custody and thought he might\'ve been working with someone else (but it\'s also standard police procedure to look for a possible accomplice) so they started looking for a second gunman. I don\'t know if this is true but the shooter actually committed suicide by shooting himself.

There were definitely more than 50 cops on VTech campus, at least 2 news stations where there because I was going back and forth watching them both while also going online to newspaper sites and listening to the police scanner. and even FBI came!! and a lot of people saw cops running--maybe chasing someone? Oh and this sounds ridiculous but there was guy riding a bike outside and the cops told him to stay away from the area and hurry back home. I can\'t believe that dude had no idea what was going on and was just like....riding his bike through campus whille all this was happening...

All in all, there were at least 33 deaths now, including the gunman. And there are about 28 injured in hospitals in Salem, Roanoke, Blacksburg, and maybe Christiansburg. A lot of people are in critical condition because of the gunshot wounds are in surgery.

The news showed a blood stain on the sidewalk. It also showed a picture of a police attacking an asian man, but he was just a reporter who got a little out of control/over-excited I guess.

I can\'t believe 33 people died...At first it started out with one and I thought that was horrible, beyond horrible, like I-can\'t-believe-it-happened-at-Tech-and-it-happened-at-a-dorm-on-campus ahhh. And then it jumped up to like 7? Then like 12 or 13? Then 22? And then 32...and now 33?

Earlier this morning during the first shooting, only one of the girls that was shot in West AJ died, but someone just told me that the other one just passed away. The news also just said that there may not be a connection between these two shootings, it may have been 2 unrelated incidents? So if that\'s true, which could be possible but I don\'t know, that means theres still someone out there on the loose and shouldn\'t they do something about it?

So many fatalities!! This is the most horrific, I don\'t know words cant even explain school shooting in US history ever. And its I never thought something like this would happen at Tech, of all places--were in the middle of nowhere!! But we started off first semester, first day of classes with the whole William Morva thing, and then all these bomb threats, and now...this....It can\'t be happening for real...

It was so scary being awake while all this was happening. I felt like a reporter cuz I was transferring info from the news to people online and my roommate was locked in one of the buildings on campus and didnt have access to news. They finally let the students go back to dorms and said something about evacuating all the faculty/staff? And all the entrances to campus were blocked off.

And then my roommate tried to go walk to the Inn (the biggest hotel at Virginia Tech, managed by Hilton ) so her friend from foxridge (an off campus apartment community ) could come get here and then we saw cops outside our door, in our freaking hallway! with guns! members of swat team! Yelling at us to close the door and go back inside. It was crazy she had to call the cops and get permission to go outside adn walk to the Inn. So then I was alone in my room for a while and panicking a little.

The dining halls opened eventually, but there\'s still cops everywhere. It was such a rude start to the day, getting that call and text from my roommate and hearing my RA banging on all our doors and telling us to turn on our TVs, stay away from the windows, and stay inside...

My heart goes out to all those families and friends of the injured and those who passed away, all those who were affected today. That was a horrible trauma. I don\'t know, after the first death, I was pretty shocked/horrified and I remember thinking how horrible that was. But that was one death. What\'s 33? I hope all those people undergoign sugery and in the hospital make it. I wonder what\'s going to happen later on this week....

And I still can\'t believe all this happened. It seem slike a really bad dream.

Thanks to all of you guys who cared/worried/thought about us and for all your concerns and stuff. I\'m still watching the news to get any more details I can or find out the identity of any of the victims or the shooter. And yeah it was also weird because people I never talked to ever started calling/texting I don\'t know trying to get a hold of me and the phone lines were so busy I couldn\'t even call my parents it was ridiculous! I\'m so thankful to be alive and to be okay and that all my sorority sisters are okay too but I can\'t believe all those other people...students, professor, and whoever else was a victim--it breaks my heart. This shooting was worse than Columbine, a lot more deaths. And....I don\'t know it was so weird/scary/freaky living through it...knowing it was happening while it was happening and having it happen so close and on campus too.

I don\'t know what else to say. But we\'re never going to forget this horrible, traumatic tragedy.....VTech will never be the same without those people and I don\'t know whats going to happen....

|
