Ferreira, playing his 100th Chelsea game, is substituted just before their third goal, and Wright-Phillips is added to midfield as Chelsea go three at the back. Before 20 minutes of the second-half have gone, a further substitution makes Chelsea three at the back with Boulahrouz, Carvalho and Essien (Boulahrouz is playing for the first time since dislocating his shoulder last month, Essien is carrying a knee injury from before half-time), and a midfield two of Lampard and Ballack, a link player in Shevchenko, and a front four of Wright-Phillips, Drogba, Kalou and Robben. Having scored our first, Lampard gets our second, and with five minutes to go Kalou volleys the equaliser. We could do without the replay, but as Mourinho says, we could do with going out even less. What a great advert for the FA Cup and football, if not for defending. Mourinho races away after the game with André Villas to watch Valencia draw 1-1 in Ossasuna. Hours later, down the road in Parson\'s Green, violence erupts between Chelsea and Tottenham gangs. Today he addresses a press conference pre-training in order to launch the Kick For Clic Sargent charity promotion with children. His anger at this morning\'s headlines results in him declaring that he won\'t take questions from the daily newspaper journalists for the rest of the season. Again the conference gets bogged down in speculation, this time because when asked yesterday if he would coach Real Madrid, he said like any coach he would be privileged, but not before 2010 which is when his Chelsea contract runs to. In training, Terry is now heading a ball with permission. He will play on Wednesday. But Essien won\'t. He goes for a scan on his injured knee and the damage is not dissimilar to what Ashley Cole did against Blackburn at the end of January. The FA Cup semi-final draw pitches us or Tottenham against Blackburn in the semi-final. The other semi is Watford against Manchester United or MiddleSuper Boyrough. Having returned to the training ground, Essien now travels to Stamford Bridge and signs a new five year contract. He may not have played midfield much lately, but it\'s good to re-sign one of the world\'s greatest midfielders. Bridge, who had been struggling to run with a knee problem is confirmed for an operation tomorrow. It\'s similar to the one Damien Duff had last season when he was back after three weeks. Ryan Bertrand finally leaves hospital after his spleen injury. He\'ll not play for another five weeks. Guess what: Shevchenko travels. Hilário and Ferreira are left at home, and they travel to Bishop\'s Stortford (next to Stanstead) where the reserves draw 0-0 with West Ham in a truly unremarkable game. Lampard scores his 20th goal of the season (second season running he\'s accomplished this), knocking in a first-half penalty won by Kalou off Richards. Lampard has a second-half effort cleared off the line. Wright-Phillips leaves the bench to great acclaim from his former fans and immediately hits the bar with a 30 yarder. He is stretchered away with what looks a very serious knee injury. Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger is charged by the FA for his post-match Carling Cup Final comments about the system not being honest, his analysis of the sendings off. Chelsea announce two things this morning, participation in a youth tournament in Malaysia\'s capital, Kuala Lumpa, in August where many top clubs will compete, and under pressure from the authorities a final banning of celery from Stamford Bridge. What will we do with our lumps now! Training is at Stamford Bridge, though Essien and Bridge remain at Cobham, and Mourinho conducts a press conference. The squad stays in a hotel overnight. The England squad for the forthcoming internationals is announced, and Wright-Phillips is left out. In the lunchtime kick-off Manchester United swipe Bolton 4-1 to go nine points ahead of us again. We respond against Sheffield United, Shevchenko and Kalou scoring before the 20th minute. Today, Drogba is rested until the last quarter of the game, Lampard and Ballack play a half each, Ashley Cole who has been struggling with an ankle injury comes off midway through the second-half, but purely for rest, and all goes well. Ballack heads the third goal, Wright-Phillips has arguably his best game for Chelsea on the right side of the midfield diamond, getting two assists.
